Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and the mother of her child Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's athletic talent was apparent from the time she started attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. A mere 10 weeks after the initial time she tried out, she was ranked second for 200m at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix signed a contract for an official career at Adidas in 2003. She after that she enrolled at University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. The first Olympic medal was won at the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set an international junior record running 200m in 22.18 secs. Felix was also the youngest winner of the 200 meter during the World Championships held in Helsinki in 2005. She won her medal time and time again in 2007 by beating the long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of the events.
